Upon retirement, Roland and Jeannette relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas where they bought a house, made many new friends and got to spend more time with their children and their families who lived there. However, after a couple of years, they decided that they really needed to be where their roots were and so returned to Maine.

In addition to her parents, Jeannette was predeceased by her husband, her daughter Jean (Bourgoin) Dierig and her youngest sibling, Lee Veilleux.
