Weston G. Kolsti 

Topsham, Maine – Weston Kolsti, 87, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019. Wes was born in Boston, MA on January 2, 1932 to Mitchell and Nancy Kolsti. He was a graduate of Boston English High School, a Korean War Veteran who served two tours of duty in the Navy, and he attended UMass Amherst where he studied engineering. 

In April of 1959 Wes married Roberta Downs and they moved to Huntsville, AL where their daughter Jennifer was born. Following brief moves to CA and CT, in 1962 the family settled in Medfield, MA. In May of 2008, once retired, Wes and Roberta (Bobbi) moved to Topsham, ME. 

Wes was a civilian who worked for several companies as a Tech Specialist on military contracts, primarily for the U.S. Air Force. Wes proudly served on the Board of Selectmen in Medfield and was active in many town organizations and political campaigns, was a member of the Lafayette-Dover Masonic Lodge and The Trustees of Reservations. He loved camping and Land Rovers and he and Bobbi were life-long dog lovers who were active members of many dog clubs and associations. 

Wes is predeceased by Roberta who passed away in 2014 as well as his brother Peter Kolsti who passed away in 2006. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Gilchrist and her husband Barry of Weston, MA, his granddaughter Stephanie Maloney and her husband Michael of South Boston, MA, his grandson Jeffrey of Waltham, MA, his brother Dr. John Kolsti and his wife Carol of Austin, TX, his nephew Peter Kolsti of Austin, TX, his nephew Christopher Kolsti of Fairfax, VA, his nephew Kenneth Kolsti and his wife Nancy of Trophy Club, TX, his nephew Ret. USAF Lt. Col. Kyle Kolsti and his wife Colleen of Xenia, OH and their children, as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. 

There will be a private family service at a later date. The family suggests donations to the Topsham Parks and Recreation, C/O Baseball, 100 Main Street, Topsham, ME 04086.
